The Schoolyear of Scott

Last Monday, I had a complete and utter geek out moment, as I spent nearly two hours watching Microsoft’s feature presentation at the annual video game expo, E3, on the G4 television station*. During the presentation, Microsoft introduced an addition to their Xbox 360 gaming system called Project Natal. For lack of a better phrase, THIS WAS THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!  I mean, seriously, I felt as though I was looking into the future right then and there.  Many people made fun of me for the amount of excitement I had towards Project Natal, but I feel as though it was/is completely warranted.  If you continue reading, I think you will understand why!

*G4 is a station that totally caters to nerds. Besides showing reruns of Lost and Arrested Development, it has a show every evening called Attack of the Show, co-hosted by girls who I’m sure have no idea what they are talking about (video games and youtube), but are hot. Curiously, for a channel that talks so much about technology, it isn’t available in HD.

Anyone else remember during the opening scene of Clueless when Cher is trying to decide what to wear to school that day, so she has the computer help pick out her clothes?  PROJECT NATAL DOES THIS!

Have you ever watched Family Feud and thought that your family is way smarter then the two families battling it out on TV?  PROJECT NATAL DOES THIS!

Have you ever wanted to play a sports game, such as boxing, and have your character you are playing as ACTUALLY be you?  PROJECT NATAL DOES THIS!

Too geeked out you say?  Most importantly, Project Natal makes the Nintendo Wii, which, if you recall, was like the coolest thing ever three years ago, look like a piece of trash.  Just watch this clip from the Jimmy Fallon Show and you too will see why Project Natal is the coolest thing ever.

Oh, and also, since we are on the topic of Jimmy Fallon, I’m sure that everyone has seen this, but if not, I had to throw this up here as well.  This has to be the greatest thing that will ever come out of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon…
